Florence + The Machine Earn 4th Top Rock Albums No. 1 With ‘Dance Fever’ – Billboard

Florence + The Machine score their fourth No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, opening atop the May 28-dated surveys with Dance Fever.

The set bows with 54,000 equivalent album units earned – with 42,000 in album sales – in the May 13-19 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Each of the Florence Welch-helmed project’s last four full-length albums has debuted at No. 1 on Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums, starting with Ceremonials in 2011. How Big How Blue How Beautiful followed in 2015 and High as Hope in 2018.

Florence + the Machine move into sole possession of the most No. 1s on Top Rock Albums (which began in 2006) for a woman or woman-fronted act. Previously, the group was tied with Brandi Carlile, Evanescence and Paramore with three apiece.

On the all-format Billboard 200, Fever starts at No. 7, the band’s fourth top 10. The act also rules Vinyl Albums for the first time, with 17,000 of the new set’s sales on vinyl.

Concurrently, five songs from Fever appear on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, paced by lead single “My Love,” which jumps 34-23, a new high. In the latest tracking week, the song drew 3.4 million audience impressions on radio and 1.5 million official U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads. “Love” also leads the way for the set on Hot Alternative Songs, at No. 16.

“Love” spends its third week at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, having become Florence + The Machine’s sixth leader on the list and first since “Hunger” in 2018. It bullets at its No. 10 best on Alternative Airplay, where it’s the group’s fourth top 10 and first since “Ship to Wreck” (No. 8, 2015).
